The Social Analysis Systems2 (SAS2) comprises a wide range of tools for collaborative research and social action. These include a central tool called Process Manager (PMr) that shows how to do continuous planning and flexibly navigate in situations of uncertainty and complexity, toward expected results. PMr and its conceptual foundations are described in Part 2 of this document.
An important feature of PMr is that it encourages users to incorporate diagnostic activities in their ongoing plans whenever they are needed, by applying SAS2 techniques and software designed to facilitate collaborative thinking and decision-making; this grounds action in sound analysis, breaking down the distinction between thinking and action. Part 1of this document presents a general outline of these 50+ techniques and software tools organized into various modules (such as Problems, Actors, and Options).
